Workshop/Training Programme on Critical Infrastructure Protection - 14th-15th December 2015, Athens

The Center for Security Studies (KE.ME.A.) in cooperation with DG HOME and Joint Research Centre organized the Workshop/Training Programme on “Critical Infrastructure Protection” on the 14th and 15th December 2015 at the premises of KE.ME.A in Athens (Greece). KE.ME.A. is the research and consulting body of the Greek Ministry of
Interior and Administrative Reconstruction and constitutes the National Authority regarding Critical Infrastructure Protection as well as the official Contact Point with the European Commission relevant authorities and the EU Member-States for the protection of the European Critical Infrastructures.

Experts from JRC and KE.ME.A. designed and delivered this program to over 160 high-ranking national stakeholders from the private and public sector, with the goal to enhance awareness regarding Critical Infrastructure’s security, resilience, interdependency and business continuity. More specifically, representatives of the Energy, Transportation and Communications Sector, of public authorities (Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environment and Energy, Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks, Ministry of Maritime and Island Policy, Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism, General Secretariat of Information and Communication) and representatives of institutions and organizations, as well as independent authorities, were in attendance. The Dutch approach to Critical Infrastructure Protection was also presented by representatives of the Ministry of Security and Justice (Netherlands).
