Standards, Best Practices and Guidelines

ERNCIP is currently developing solutions to improve the quality of the data provided to our stakeholders and, particularly for ERNCIP Inventory users, to make the search of information on experimental facilities faster and easier to execute.

Among the efforts recently put in place, an assessment has been conducted on the most often recurring standards, best practices and guidelines used by the ERNCIP Inventory Members in their daily activities of testing and certification, as recorded in the Inventory after one year of being online.

The fact that more and more Inventory users are submitting queries with keywords like "ISO, ANSI, CEN, NIST, standards" suggests that further knowledge on the topic of standards, best practices and guidelines would be useful and that increased awareness of this topic could improve ERNCIP's activities.

For this reason, the ERNCIP Office has recently invited the Inventory Members to take some time to update/improve the "General" (accreditation and competencies), "Skills" (capabilities and services) and "Testing" sections of their Inventory profiles in order to improve the quality of the database, and, at the same time increase the Member's visibility. The information gathering for this specific sub-set of data will be performed regularly.

The section below classifies the identified standards within the Inventory of Labs tool and provides also a link between the labs that make use of it.
