The kick-off meeting for this thematic area took place in Ispra on the 3 February, and included 24 experts from government, infrastructure operators, cyber security organisations, academia, research and technology organisations, IT vendors, and from the JRC.
The group identified that there is already much activity on ICS security, and that this ERNCIP group will therefore build on the results achieved. The meeting included two parallel workshops on ICS and smart grids. The ICS workshop discussed existing standards, and identified current areas of concern for ICS security. The smart grid workshop focused on the architectural concepts associated with smart grid terminology, and how this affects the testing and certification of components of smart grids
