Chemical and Biological (CB) Risks to Drinking Water
The first meeting of the TA Water took place on 16-17 April and the second one on 19-20 June 2012, both at the JRC in Ispra. The group is coordinated by Philipp Hohenblum of the Austrian Environmental Agency, and it includes members from water-related test facilities and authorities. Early on, the group decided not to split into chemical and biological subgroups, but to draw on the interdisciplinary setting it has. While drinking water was defined as its main focus, the second meeting went further to discuss harmonisation of test standards. Issues such as probes and online quality control systems, systems for measurement of microbiological contaminants, identification and screening tests, were discussed in this context.
