DESCRIPTION:A \n \n\nDate: \n\n2012-12-11 09:15 to 2012-12-12 17:15
 \n\nPlace: \n\nIspra\n\nGroup: \n\nConferences and Workshops\n\n\n\n\nThe
European Commission Joint Research Centre held its first ERNCIP Conference
in Ispra on 12-13 December 2012. Over 100 CIP experts attended the confer
ence\, included officials from Member State governments\, test laboratorie
s\, academic organisations\, security product manufacturers and the Europe
an Commission.\n\n\nThe conference was organised by the ERNCIP Office with
the objective of providing a forum for the widest range of ERNCIP stakeho
lders to meet and exchange information about the current challenges of tes
ting protocols\, standardization\, certification and investment issues.  A
ll the eight ERNCIP thematic areas were presented and discussed\, the subj
ects being as diverse as explosive detection and cyber security.\n\n\nThe
conference discussions underlined the importance of testing security solut
ions and offered a number of practical suggestions\; such as more testing
capabilities should be developed\, or investment is required to improve th
e lab capabilities and lab availability in the EU. For more details about
the conference conclusions\, please see our summary report within the down
load area.\n\n\nAn overview of all the speakers and the presentation summa
ries can be found in the booklet of the conference.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe full
length presentation slides are available from the download area.\n\n\nDown
