Chemical and Biological (CB) Risks to Drinking Water

Primary purpose of this meeting was to progress the planned 2016 tasks for the following activities:
- Water Security Plan: the synthesis of the three 2015 reports focussing on online monitoring systems, as one part of a water security plan has been acknowledged. The experts have discussed the consultation of the relevant stakeholders in Member States and national drinking water associations (via EUREAU). The first draft of a survey was delivered.
- Technical questionnaire: planning has been presented and agreed. The aim is to investigate the availability and suitability of online monitoring techniques to detect variations in water quality caused byintentional and unintentional contamination of drinking water distribution networks.
The Validation Workshop is planned to be in Brussels on the 12th and 13th of December, 2016. It will be included in a event on Water Safety and Security jointly organised by DG HOME, DG ENV and JRC.
